Latest STW. Although the warning zone seems to stop before the CBD, storms will carry through to the coast. The Seabreeze is feeding into these storms once again. Flash flooding due to heavy rainfall is the major concern.

We are currently in a very dangerous storm system. The SEWS has been requested by BoM with the Broadcast of the warnings. So if you are in the car you will hear that horrid siren before the warning. But it works which is the most important part. It is an extremely dangerous situation around Lake Samsonvale, Daybora and surrounding areas.

There certainly is a huge amount of rain around at the moment so hopefully everyone heeds the warnings and gets home safely.

The weather has been quite pleasant for the last few days, even though it has been a bit warm during the day.

At least the dry days have given the ground a chance to dry out and we were able to get our lawn mowed before Christmas. A few days ago the yard was still so soggy that my husband told me the only way he could mow the lawn was with a hovercraft mower BigGrin

Here is the forecast for the Brisbane area for the next few days. Saturday is looking to be a scorcher with a max temperature of 37°C and the chance of a thunderstorm.

As Aussie Girl posted above, you can see that Saturday is a very hot day, but there is a cooler change coming through. There is storm potential from Saturday onwards but at this stage Wednesday is looking like a fairly decent storm day. I would say it is the pick of the days. But once again we are 6 days out and things can change very quickly. But keep an eye out for the upcoming weather.

Just the Li’s below for Wednesday as everything could change.

As it is also the New Year there will be a 2025 day to day weather thread that will start on 1 January.

I have been keeping an eye on the storms West of the Range for the last few hours. It looks like they are sneaking over the Divide now. They have dropped some big rain totals in a very short period of time. The big question is if they have enough energy left in them to make it to the East Coast?

The modelling did chop and change and today was looking a possibility and there is still a possibility of storms over the next couple of days. There is according to the Brisbane sounding the chance for these storms to reach the Coast, so just keep and eye and ear out for any warnings. It would mainly be for heavy rain and a bit of wind. We could see another good light show like Saturday night.

Just need a bit of a reprieve from this oppressive weather especially during the night.

It's getting closer now. Looks like we are in for a real drenching with this one.

No warning for the Brisbane area but it definitely is above us and over the wider metro area etc. as can be seen on the radar.
