When I lived in Sydney so so many years ago, I thought it always rained thru most of the Wet Season months, for everyone on the coast. Was it really like that?

I haven't seen HF pop up on any of the 4 forums that the WZ orphans ended up on.
Australian WX forum,- Aus WX forum,- Ski.forum, or here.

Maybe,- after a short hiatus, some of the others will start searching around again.

I think some of the other members ended up on the Ski site, other have probably reverted to social media? ThumbDown I think you meant Feb don't you Ron?
Our Feb was pretty dry by comparison, only 278 mm for Feb, and 2 mm to date for March, The MT is supposed to be getting reorganised so it may be wetter from mid to late next week.

hi guys..thanks Julie and Paul for registering me...

It sure has been a weird wet season..we still haven't had a creek flush here yet but maybe next week will sort it out..

I had a trip down to NSW through western QLD over the past couple of weeks and had to divert towards the coast on the way home due to flooding around St George and Roma...it was really wonderful to see such greenery and an abundance of feed on all the country the whole way down...just a shame so many farmers had to sell off so much stock during the drought and the cost of restocking wont be cheap...hopefully many have been able to retain some breeders..

I'm planning on staying over at Hinchinbrook island for the weekend ..hopefully stormage keeps to a minimum..

Hi Scott , Yassi & coldfront , good to see a lot of the old crew all in one spot again.

Storms missed me again this arvo :( but looks like they could be building a second line for tonight:)

Hopefully next week will see our real wet start :) fingers crossed.

Cheers

Got an EWN a little earlier, but sitting here looking at all the lovely big clouds to the east. Not even a temperature drop. Not yet, but still hoping.

30mm for here in the past 24 hrs.

This comes from the Townsville bulletin...Blink

Townsville in 'target zone' for potential Tropical Cyclone Gretel. Brewing conditions are perfect for a tropical cyclone to form over the next week, with weather models showing it could swing by Townsville. ... β€œIt's over 30C right now, that's more than 3C above the threshold for a tropical cyclone.”

So Townsville people can move from panic buying toilet paper to panic buying bottled water BigGrin

I went into Coles yesterday and put 12 bags of bird seed into my trolley. I had a few people giving me strange looks, but people didn't join me in panic buying. I was trying to start a new craze, but people didn't follow. Sad I put the bags back in the end.

7mm up in Mareeba yesterday, but only very light rain here. Roll on this week!
