My entire work team are in the SE corner and they are all losing their minds!
I tried to reason with them that they have storms windier than this down there all the time and they should make sure nothing will blow away in their yards and just calm down.
I've given them all the 'tools' we use to track and forecast etc, hoping that would help them understand what is actually going on rather than the BS on the news - to no avail.
One of them then told me I couldn't possibly understand what they were going through down there!
My organisation has been putting out daily update "newsletters" all week for staff, and have already organised disaster leave for everyone. It's great that they are being proactive, but when a Cat 5 was pointing at me, they were still putting meetings into my calendar and couldn't understand why I wasn't keen to travel to Townsville for a couple of days.
I bet they don't remember any of this next time I'm in the firing line!
