Nice one SM...you guys really needed some decent falls ..!..keep us updated..For some reason the BOM gauge total rain and river data page doesnt seem to be updating at all..

43mm down this way till 11 am..very nice light and steady rain too...perfect for all things garden and seeing the first march fly yesterday no doubt a mass hatching will follow this rain event..!..

Whats going on Bunyip i thought you would be up the Cape reeling in the Meteries..!

We had a nice day out on the water thursday with some whales still heading north..I would have thought they would be back on the way down again ..

Also observed for the first time in 20 years of being up close with them, the phenomenon of "tail- sailing" where on this occasion a whale was vertically upside down with his tail sticking up for around 5 minutes just slapping the water with his tail...I actually thought he must have been in distress or stuck in a net of line so upped anchor to get in closer for a look but it seems all we ended up doing was interupt his silly game...

Did a bit of googling and found that its rare but normal behaviour..anyone else seen it happening...?
