Averaging about 30mm per day for the last few. Most of the rain has been overnight. Good heavy showers. Another 14mm so far today.

The minor bird population in Cairns seems to have sky-rocketed in the last 30years. Incredibly you need a gun licence for a kiddies air rifle these days so that could be part of the problem. They were great fun when we were kids.

Edit: Bit of research: I've owned a 12 gauge break barrel shotgun and a break barrel air rifle. Apparently they're both category A weapons in Qld. Unbelievable really.
