Weather Situation: The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:30 pm, very dangerous thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Rainbow Beach and Inskip. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north and are forecast to affect Inskip Point by 3:50 pm and are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large, possibly giant hailstones. Other severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Point Lookout, Amity Point, Dunwich and Tamborine. They are forecast to affect Beenleigh, Logan City and southern Moreton Island by 3:50 pm and northern Moreton Island, Comboyuro Point and Cape Moreton by 4:20 pm and likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding.
