A lot of council offer a free Emergency Warning Notifications via txt message. Check with your local council and see if they do. If they do, sign up. If the don’t then EWN (
http://www.ewn.com.au/
) offer the same for a small annual fee. These messages range from Storms, fire, EQ, Tsunamis which I received one a few years ago for SEQ Coast. Basically all natural disasters. They also cover situations of civil unrest, event of war, health pandemics etc. whatever the local Council or govt deems necessary, you will receive a text message.
