Is it my imagination that we used to be able to click on Weipa and get an almost overlap of rain radars so we knew how much of their weather was heading here. Now, the rain radar circles only go out to about 250km and have a sharp arc cutoff with unknown territory in between, a blank zone.
I realise we can get the whole country via "Australia" including the grey satellite cloud cover but it in no way informs about rain bands.
Really, the 5ookm so called composite is no such thing, more like a submarines asdic picture without torpedo tracks.
