Weather Situation:
A cold front is moving rapidly east across southern Queensland, and is expected to reach the coast at around midnight. Vigorous westerly wind flow is expected to develop over the ranges following the passage of this front, and this may lead to damaging winds developing over the eastern slopes and foothills of the ranges.

Damaging winds, with peak gusts around 90 to 100 km/h may develop from late this evening and into early Saturday morning.

Further west, strong winds are continuing over the Maranoa and Darling Downs, however damaging wind gusts are no longer expected over these areas and the warning is cancelled.
