Yeah mate..missus thought it was thunder at first..but it sounded different to me later on too Bunyip... .definately more like an explosion....

The last time I heard something similar was when I was flying through the air after pouring 20 litres of stale unleaded fuel onto a wood pile and lighting it...

A very similar sound indeed...
