Dry as anything here. The usual dead grass colour, although the poincianas are out, so is the cascara, and a couple jacarandas starting to bloom - brilliant colour in stark contrast to the dead grass. The sky is, of course, a smokey blue.

I've had a storm bird pair at the bottom of the yard the last couple weeks. Living between the red bottlebrush and next door's mulberry tree.

There's been rain within kilometres of us a couple times in the last week, but not here. At least a drop in temperature helps. Days are 38-40 degrees, but still sleeping half the night with the doona on.

I've had to water every day the last couple months. Thankfully the weeds haven't come out in full force yet.

(Anyone else lose email notifications from time to time? Haven't received any since my last post on 27 October. Completely missed Ron's redirection. Or is it just me...?)
