Not as hot today as it has been. Dead calm a lot of the time, no breeze.

Grass and weeds started shooting after that week of rain we had -- and kept going and going, so yards are green again. Almost ready for a mow. Crazy for Chillagoe.

We had the first band of rain pass over us early evening, probably around 5-5.30pm. Must've evaporated before it reached the ground. Felt a few specs, then nothing. A few bands have passed over us since, and nothing.

BOM says Palmerville and Chillagoe will get the damaging wind gusts, so everything but a couple chairs and small tables has gone into the shipping container. Neighbours haven't bothered with anything...

At 7.49 pm the BOM has Jasper crossing north of Port Douglas. JTWC Warning 26 which should be updated soon, also has it crossing near Port Douglas. Looks like they're starting to agree with each other.
