I saw Innisfail had a nice thunderstorm this afternoon, and partner and I were jealous of their recorded 9mm. I pointed out to him we're due for one since today has been the worst we've had this summer for horrible heat and humidity.
Not jealous any longer, as I was about to shut the computer down I saw something approaching us so kept an ear open for rumbles and sure enough, heard some, so unplugged all, put up the heavy drapes on the deck and lay down on the divan.

Just plugged everything in after lots of flashes and thunder finishing with one good house shaking blast, and everything moving offshore. Checked the gauge, 46mm.
The deck dropped to 8OF but is now climbing back up, hopefully not too high, but then the fans will do the trick and we should sleep well. Bunyip probably got more, as usual!
