Just about 25mm in the gauge sofar today , just been gentle drizzly stuff most of the day.

28 the council dragged the chain, the mayor was to pig headed to call for help and the engineer was corrupt.
The engineer has quit last week after questions started to get asked.
The mayor did not stand for reelection.
They had 90 days to get it cleaned up without an environmental plan, (that ment they could push it over the edge into the sea)
That has now expired so ALL dirt and rocks trees must now be trucked away. Of coarse it is totally ridiculous that they can't
keep pushing it over the side, it's where nature was taking it without us, but hay the reef.

There are conspiracies that it is deliberate, in an attempt to reduce the population up there, but I doubt that has any reality
to it as this last lot were to hopeless to think that far ahead.

It's funny that the couple from the camping are complaining, I hear they are getting $1000 pw so the council can stockpile dirt
on their property, and the roads fixed after it is all removed. Nice easy money without the hassle of people. Some people are never
satisfied and I'm sure plenty of other locals would be happy for council to stockpile on their place.

The damage is done, Cape Trib will be getting lots of bad press for years to come, numbers will drop for years. It is going to
take 2 years at least to fix the Alexandra range, so wait at the ferry, wait at 2 or 3 sets of road works and see stuff all
because the QPWS & natives have most of it closed and the boardwalks all need lots of work, ect ect ..
I get so pissed at these fools the shire has marketed the Daintree as a destination for over 25 years, yet have done very little
in the way of infrastructure for all these tourists. If it was anywhere else in the world as a world heritage site it would be
way better managed.

Sorry for the rant.

Nice wet arvo here think I might light the fire, with the election bull they sent out. :)

Cheers
