55mm here plus 95mm for the past week i was away..

Looks like we were on the lower end of the scale in the rain department although in nearly 4000km of driving I first hit rain whilst returning just 5km's south of Tully..and of course I missed the first run of dry days since January but the few days i was down in NW NSW were all around 35c and sunny and dry and dusty so the rain and humidity back home here is actually a relief..

Sounds pretty dissapointing Bunyip...you would think the first step in gaining access and sorting roads would indeed be to push as much rocks, dirt and debris over the edges then drag down any other material to stabilize landslip areas and push it all over too...

Hard to beleive they are trying to actually truck it away from the areas...after 2 bad cyclones down our way local knowledge dictates that most remedial works, tree removal and any other works that may bring undue attention from conservation-minded fools should be undertaken as soon as possible after the event while there seems to be a bit of leeway to get things up and running again..

and for screening plants there is so many options but as its close to your house then i'd look at things that attract the birds and butterflies..

Interesting to see the low in the NT that BOM said a week ago was a low chance of forming a cyclone actually hit the coast as a cat 3..Good old BOM strikes again....
