Yes I did get a thermal monocular. So a few reasons why I went this way.
1 was cost, a thermal scope is why out of my budget, another is it's not good practice to be waving a rifle around looking
for game, and it's also not easy. The mono for finding what you are going to hunt is the safest and easiest way, then either
light them up with a rifle mounted spotlight or night vision scope.

I started with a rifle mounted spotlight, I've got both red and white leds for it and it works well, find with the mono
move in to positions and light on Bang..
Then there was a run out on night vision scopes at a price I could afford, it's not top of the line but I have been dropping
pigs out to 100m in total darkness no problems at all.

My mono will scan across paddocks and I can identify pigs out to 800m no problem, I can mount it on a spotlight handel and wifi
to a tablet or my phone, move into position all the while watching what the ferals are up to.

I haven't hunted a lot with it yet because the paddocks here are still boggy and wet nights, but the half a dozen times I've
been out I've got something.

If you have problems and want to check out either I could come for a drive one day.

Back to the weather..
6mm here this morning & a few showers today so far, and of coarse the radar is out of action..

Cheers
