There must be warm water in the Gulf of Mexico at the moment Scott, that's a powerful cyclone. I watched a short video on Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines in 2013 with central pressure of 895 hpa. Apparently that was the strongest cyclone ever recorded so this one is very similar. A bit worrying in Florida I'd reckon.

Edit: It will be keeping the storm chasers busy, they just got home from the last one. BigGrin

Edit 1800hrs 9/10: Hurricane Milton looking very serious now, could be one of the worst ever they say.
