A real stinker here today and looks like no real reprieve all week except for a possible storm or 2....I did run to innisfail and just about every person working inside stores was complaining about the heat....I just had to shake my head and think well I'm 56 and i work outside in whatever conditions occur... sure i try and have a couple of hours break in the middle of the day but if i dont work i dont get paid so no use complaining about it...
yeah Bunyip and 28 apparentlly ADI have said they have pistol powders in production and supplies will start being available in the new year..cleavers had a limited supply there a couple of weeks ago but it went quick..its harder for us up here though because powder cant be posted..a range of primers are also starting to appear so hopefully this side of things will get back to some sort of normal though prices have gone up of course..
I put a deposit on a new handgun today and went .22 just because i can only have one real handgun during the first year of licencing and figured at $90 aper 500 for ammo was going to be somewhat cheaper then about $40-45 for a pack of 50 factory 9mm or 38 special whilst I am learning and practising...and for social club matchs .22 is accepted for most disciplines..
I can easily put through 2-400 rounds in a couple of hours practising on targets so it seems silly to do it with larger calibres when guys at the range are happy to lend a larger caliber when i just want to take a box or 2 of that ammo and have a bit of fun..i shot a box of .38 special in a 357 revolver the other day....I'm so bummed I cant also get a revolver now as well...cowboy guns are so much fun..
and yeah bunyip all the jumping through hoops is finally worth it and I also needed a letter to get accredited to shoot larger calibres then a .38 which was just a formality and now just a holster accreditation for club IPSC shoots and all the BS is finally over...
You should blitz it though if you have someone to talk you through whats required..the hardest part is actually researching all the steps and whats required...
Anyway i had a nice cool swim this arvo which helped combat the heat...a storm or 2 would be most appreciated...
