I don't think you have to pay a subscription to know this system was on the cards. The GFS has been talking of this little low for about 3 days now. BOM has been saying the same thing.
A couple of showers starting to fall here now.
Edit 1740: Still quite dry here but I did hear once that the monsoon does it's best work at night.
I see the flood watch is now extended north to Cooktown.
