Yeah wow SM...check out those isobars hitting the QLD coast from the SE..
Looks more like a winter tradewind pattern of a high pushing across bringing SE showers and winds..
Like I mentioned before, while I'm surprised about the amount of rain in December, not having the proper monsoon set in till later in January or even early Feb doesnt really surprise me...
