I finally got time to read those two articles explaining Thursday's storms that you posted Colmait. They were really very interesting and many thanks for posting them.
When I was reading the ABC article I realized that I didn't just imagine on Thursday that the wind was a Westerly that we don't normally get at this time of year.
The BOM is predicting that we will have hot days later this coming week with the possibility of a storm on Thursday and Friday. This is the forecast for the Brisbane area:
