The AWS for Brisbane at 14:00 this afternoon has a feel like temperature of 39°C. The max temperature at this point is 35°C. Although earlier the temperature was higher by 0.7°C, the dew points were lower, now the due points are rising and so is the apparent or feel like temperature .

Usually the temperature will peak around 15:00 so I would not be surprised if we reach the 36°C or the due points rise slightly higher again causing the apparent or feel like temperature to be over 40°C.

It is so oppressive outside that it is just not funny at all.

I really hope the power grid can cope with these temperatures as more people switch on the AC to cool down, Yesterday in Western Australian over 12,000 lost power due to the demand on the grid from the heat.
