Bloody ridiculous....the whole might of The Army and the resources of the whole of state and federal government of Australia and thats the best they could come up with for the only real road linking FNQ to the rest of the country... and its just about 20 ft or so of the bridge aproach that washed out..surely the could have just dumped a heap of rock in there and compacted it and then at least had both lanes moving again..

Far out I and probably most every farmer and anyone thats operated heavy equiptment have personally done more extensive earthworks then that with 50 year old tippers and machinary in a day or 2....

Geez if it was in China they would have just built a dual lane expressway and a new bridge around it in 3 days...LOL
