No rain here this morning. I've got to the point of just checking the satellite image every morning and if no movement of the cyclone all is good. Not really checking the forecast track yet.

I think Timmy is unemployed and lives with his mum...

He's possibly a worse forecaster then 8 yr old Darcy..Beginning of last month he made his own track maps of that low that travelled offshore down the coast towrds ayre...His map had it crossing the coast at daintree...

Beginning of the season he called one cyclone potentially hitting the WA coast the most catasphropic weather event to ever happen..and yeah it wasnt...

He also predicted record flooding around xmas..which also didnt happen..

However I do see Nitso at Weather IQ say tonight that if Malia starts moving west tomorrow then that Cape York crossing is most likely however if its westerly movement is delayed by another day or 2then a more southerly course could happen...I hope it starts heading west tomorrow...pretty please..

Definately cooled down a bit here in past days and quite nice working outside under a bit of sunshine as well...

Hopefully not too much rain to come next week as some are suggesting..Currently harvesting cucumbers and have some cherry tomatoes setting fruit..but neither would appreciate cool wet condition I imagine..

It doesnt appear you have much to worry about Bunyip with not even the FB heros saying too much about an impending cyclonic strike anymore...

Although This is whats on the BOM site about the other cyclone further to the SE...

I see there's cyclones either side of the equator to our north. TS sinlaku could give Guam a touch up in a couple of days. Maila looks like it's dissipating.

Certainly some nip in the air isnt there..!..already fighting the Staffy for blankies at night already..

I see BOM has already put out an intial flood warning for FNQ rivers from Wednesday onwards....they must really think this will be a decent event...I see one mob describing it as a "Hook and stall" event which doesnt sound good...essentially a surface trough catching the low that was Malia and it sitting on the coast for an indeterminate amount of time dumping heavy rain...

i also see another mob stating the rain activity will persist into May...though after all the scaremongering that amounted to nought after the last cyclone that wasnt I'm surprised these folks are so bold to make such predictions....I guess we wait and see and at least Bunyip has a shed full of fuel, food and new chompers so it doesnt matter if Solar Dave and his designer dogs new 300k boat washs the ferry out again.....but you can all still donate to his fund as its still up there guys...

and yeah SM very happy to see the gauges back up again...Once again i reported the outage to the local council and once again they said it was BOMs issue..I told them that last time they said that also that BOM told me ,NO, it was councils responsibility...and like last time a week or so later somebody finally sorted it out and sent someone to fix the issue...

So I guess till next time a grasshopper or frog gets stuck and stops the gauge we have some nearby totals to compare..

Good morning folks, Just 4mm in my gauge this morning :)

The bloody ferry are saying they will close early and not open till late if we get a flow in the river.
I have to do an airport run first thing Thursday morning, I'm getting a bit of a bad feeling about that.

No new choppers Scott, just more gone. down to a dozen left with only 2 up top. Getting through a steak
is a bit slower but has not stopped me :)

Yeah good to have the gauges back, more gauges needed in the whole north..
