Nice to see some Cumulus cloud starting to move in from the NE. Forecast is for light showers & a possible thunderstorm this afternoon. Not expecting much in the way of rain though but will take anything at the moment.

Humidity is sitting at 42%, above the norm of around 22% at this time of day. Looks to be on the increase as well.

Looked promising around lunch time but had cleared by mid afternoon without a drop falling.

At least there was some different cloud to look at instead of odd bit of Cirrus or the usual clear sky! RollEyes

It is always the say for the weekend. I sit at work and look out to warm sunny weather and then the weekend comes and it ends.

Wow. Not good Ambient, too many records there for you guys.

Hopefully something comes along soon to settle the dust in a controlled way and then give good soaking rain.
(Aka nice and steadY and not 100mm in a couple hours)

Yes, not looking too good for the fire rating on Tuesday.

https://mobile.abc.net.a...fire-conditions/11575298

Southern Queensland weather forecast to bring severe fire danger and 40-degree heatwave

A wave of dangerous severe fire weather is about to hit southern Queensland with the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) forecasting heatwave conditions as temperatures soar.

The BOM said tomorrow's public holiday and Tuesday would be the hottest days with very dry, windy conditions.

Gusts of over 50 kilometres an hour are expected to wreak havoc over the south-east region with 15 fires already burning, three in rugged and difficult terrain.

Ipswich and the Lockyer Valley will be among the regions most at risk tomorrow.

There are also severe fire dangers listed for the Darling Downs, Granite Belt, Maranona and Warrego.

On Tuesday, the hazardous conditions will stretch to Blackwater, Taroom, Gayndah and in the Central West around Winton and Julia Creek.

Thanks for those rain records and statistics 'ambient'. Interesting but dreadful results.

Sometimes these bad droughts break with shocking floods. Eventually.

I don't think this upcoming trough and ECL from ACC g is going to help you much. but see how you go

ACC g has a trough and ECL for SE NSW tomorrow

A closed low forms in SE NSW early tomorrow morning and coastal Se NSW will have the wetter more intense southern flank of this low initially
tomorrow morning.

By 11am the rain signal extends to inland NSW and continues in to the day.The ECL intensifies into the afternoon but is moving off shore taking its rain and wind with it overnnight tomorrow

Cheers crikey.

Don`t think it will extend far enough north to my area unfortunately. Looking promising for Saturday though with the chance of a storm.

The contrast in those temperatures between VIC and NSW is amazing ambient. Thanks. That was interesting.

Came through rain yesterday morning on the M1 and stormy near Albury. It was very cold around Albury last night. I heard on the radio there was snow on the alps. I will investigate.

looks like the possibility of rain coming up for parts of NSW

Yesterdays rain totals good ok for some

Forecast looking good for some rain over today & tomorrow. Had a brief shower at around 2:30 am, just enough to wet the bottom of the gauge.
Visibility is down to about 10 km this morning, a light NE breeze is bringing smoke inland from the fires east of Armidale & Glen Innes.

Could get some storms this evening. Have charged the GoPro & DSLR batteries just in case!

Let us know how you go, because after your videos of dust and long dry period, I am going to have a beer to celebrate any rain you receive!

Obviously not drought breaking rain, but any rain is good rain!

Fingers crossed!
