Thats a pretty looking radar picture ambient.
Rain totals from 9am this morning to 6pm tonight.
Sydney less than a mm but Richmond 24.8mm
Horsley Park 16mm
Bathurst 16.2mm
Young 12m
Lots of places just a mm or so
maybe a little more overnight and tomorrow arvo

The Katoomba and Lithgow official rain total showing less than a mm since 9am Blackheath weather twitter reckons it was more likely hail and not snow.

Great drop of rain yesterday & overnight for a total of 17.5 mm. Hopefully some runoff into farm dams & tanks. Will be good to enjoy some dust free days! Some totals from around my area:
Inverell Res 21.4
Glen Innes AP 19.2
Armidale AP 16.6
Moree AP 7.2
Coonabarabran AP 6.0
Gunnedah AP 5.0
Narrabri AP 3.8
Tamworth AP 1.0
Did hear reports of some good falls around the Tamworth area of 10 - 15 mm. Maybe a chance of a shower or two for the region today.

The smell of rain after that long must have been wonderful. Hope you manage to get a bit of run off into dams.

So glad you had a good downburst ambient I had a look at climate online and l am amazed that little ole Forster has a really decent climate record dating back to 1896 The search for the last rain event shows 11th OCT. 34mm 12th OCT. 13.4mm 13th OCT. 16 mm 3 day total around 63 mm. The mean for OCT is 78.7mm Not bad at all with another 2weeks to go before the end of the month.  Link http://www.bom.gov.au/js..._c=&p_stn_num=060013

The mean rainfall for Oct is 62.7, so we are only 25% of that so far. Haven`t been to Forster for years!. Spent a bit of time there in the past. Used to go deep sea fishing on the "Double D" or hire a boat on Wallis Lake. Don`t know if Pinky`s Ribs in Tuncurry is still open, they had the best Pizza & Spare Ribs  . |

Warm day yesterday reaching a high of 32 after 10 overnight.
Heading for a top of 36 today, already 23 degrees at 9:00 am with wind from the NNW at 13 knots. Humidity is up due to the the northerly at 55% & the possibility of a late storm this afternoon.

Reached 35 degrees yesterday at around 3:00 pm. Had storms roll in at 5:30 pm with wind gusts to 24 knots bringing some dust with it followed by some thunder & lightning. Temp dropped 12 deg in just over half an hour from 30 to 18.
Measured 3 mm of rain for that event followed by another short storm at 9:30 pm with another 0.6 mm.
Set the timelapse camera up looking south at 5:00 pm & recorded until 7:00 pm. There were some spectacular lightning bolts around but only managed to capture one on the video. |

Warm day yesterday with a top of 31.9 followed by a low of 19.6 overnight. 9 am temp this morning was 23.1, humidity of 40% & a NNW wind gusting to 22 knots.
Chance of a gusty shower or thunderstorm this afternoon and early evening. Possible raised dust. Winds north to northwesterly 30 to 45 km/h shifting southwesterly 25 to 35 km/h in the evening.
A bush fire is burning in the Kaputar National Park, 40 km to the west & is currently more than 11,660 hectares in size. The fire was started by lightning strikes from the storms 9 days ago.Addendum - Just had the first bout of Raised Dust from the NW at 10:45 am.Edited by user Saturday, 26 October 2019 10:06:09 AM(UTC)

Bit of a mixed bag yesterday. Gusty NW winds from early morning with raised dust moving in around 10:45. Visibility was down to 15 km. Wind picked up after 1:00 pm to 32 knots from the WNW bringing smoke from the Kaputar fire to mix with the dust. Visibility was reduced to 10 km.
A brief shower of rain brought 0.2 mm that mixed with the dust as it fell covering everything in a brown residue.
Reached a maximum of 32.5.
Tamworth Airport, 100 km to the south recorded a wind speed of 111 kph at around 3 pm & some area`s picked up a couple of mm of rain.
Cool change overnight brought the temp down to 8.2. A 10 knot Southerly is keeping the temp down to a pleasant 19 degrees at 9:00 am.
Today will be spent cleaning up the mess.  |

Major Fire Updates
Emergency Warning - Crestwood Drive Fire, Lake Cathie area (Port Macquarie LGA) 2019-10-29 13:50
Current Situation
The fire is burning in the area of Lake Innes and Lake Cathie, south of Port Macquarie.
The fire has breached containment lines and is moving quickly in a southerly direction.
Strong north easterly winds are blowing smoke and embers well ahead of the main fire creating numerous spot fires. Spot fires have started to the west of Lake Cathie village.
Firefighters and aircraft are working to slow the spread of the fire and protect properties in the area.
Advice
Numerous spot fires are starting ahead of the main fire front.
If you are in the area of Lake Cathie, Long Point or Bonny Hills, watch for burning embers. These embers may start spot fires ahead of the main fire front.
If the fire threatens your location, seek shelter immediately to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
Houston Mitchell Drive is closed between the Pacific Highway and Lake Cathie.
If you are not in the area, it may not be safe to return as roads can be closed at short notice.
