Lovely dry season days, but the temperature and humidity will be rising soon. What is the weather like today?

These warnings are more for extreme conditions promoting the spread of dangerous fires with a threat to life and property. It would in fact be quite abnormal to not see the dry season skies filled with smoke for much of the season prior to the first rains. |

Hi 'orebound'.,I had no idea about that . I am quite ignorant re the top end being so far away. Are the fires deliberatley lit. No thunderstorms in the dry season to start them? The prescribed burns in SE QLD ,NSW and VIC have been horrific. The smoke is so irritating. I remember your username from the WA cyclone season. Do you still follow the WA cyclone season and live there.,This forum will greatly benefit from your joining.

Appreciate the welcome. Probably a couple WA storms you may recognize on my YouTube Channel Actually l am not a storm watcher at all.I have an interest in weather cycles and patterns But l do remember your commentaries on cyclones in Oz so,it is there we share a similar interest. Will you be chasing cyclones in Australia this coming season? I only chase them in my arm chair, with great enthusiasm. I look forward to reading your posts about Darwin weather. I have an interest in the monsoon trough and seasonal trends ,so that is more my interest. It would be good if Paul put the NT general weather as a sticky on the front page.,The NT is often overlooked on forums. cheers. I will put your you tube. channel linkon my blog tonight Edited by user Tuesday, 27 August 2019 5:08:45 PM(UTC)

Dew points slowly on the rise up here in Darwin as we nudge closer to the brutality of another wet season build-up! Even a few little offshore showers poking around this morning. |

I was playing with stormcast and noticed what appears to be some storm activity over night in the top end. I had to get out google maps for some names. Storm in Timor sea. Nearest towm Wadeye. No storms in the forecast. It does however look quite an isolated patch. But small sign of the build up. a NE of the gulf out in the coral looking ferocious on this picture
