Sooo, is it time to dismantle the cyclone kit?

Haha Weary, I don't think you will need it as a cyclone kit till next season , but as 28 says I would be adapting it to suit the current situation.
Just looking at the radar it looks like 28 might have a morning shower out there or is it all NW of you.
Been fairly warm here the last couple of days got too 33° here yesterday, if the wet is over it can cool off any time it wants.

All to the NW of us Bunyip. It sort of felt like it might've sprinkled a bit when I woke about 6.30am but didn't think so. Nothing looked damp. Didn't bother to check the gauge.

Holy moly Bunyip you are not wrong about the heat..! I'm really struggling to get going today from a few days of physical work on the chainsaw and brushcutter over easter….total body exhaustion.... We are starting to get some showers now with more on the way by the looks of the radar... 28, maybe they should ship all the oldies off to the NT or Christmas island for the winter and if they could include all women of menopausal age in that too, I would be most thankful....  Might be a tad early to write off the possibility of a cyclone..considering what happened in Vanuatu and with the water temp being still around 28c..

The heat - currently 33.0 degrees, probably go up to 34-ish as previous days. Somehow it feels hotter than that. Humidity is disappearing, so it's not the humidity. Maybe it's the gasping dry sauna effect, just before you tip more water on. First whirlwind 3 or 4 days ago, way too early, the grass and the weeds are all still green. Shouldn't get them until everything is a nice creamy beige colour again. Gurd, don't send me to the NT in the Dry Season - I only ever go there in the Wet.

9mm this morning , and looking at the radar it looks like a wet night again. Very blowy at the mo..
This line is a lot more established than this time yesterday.
Ha Scott I did a day on the cane knife and pruners and needed a days rest.
Lol about the menopausal birds, I could do with a good nights sleep , just have to wait for her night shifts
too come around..haha
Hope nobody's been booked for living your life under the new world order.

Cheers Where's marakai when you need him...! Drove to Mareeba this morning, to catch the oldies early rush hour. Doesn't look too busy later on, next time I might leave at a reasonable time. So good shopping now. Checkout conveyors are clean. Empty streets easy parking. Feel for the retailers though. Heard the coast would get a few showers. I think we're done out here. One more mow maybe.

Haha I've had a few emails with Marakai, he is well just nothing much to report in the way of weather :(
38mm this morning, was very blowy after dark for a few hours then the rain came in later.
Looks like Ron is getting a drink this morning, south side of kans ..
Much wildlife around on your early run 28, that would be a bugga after just getting the car straight. Take care .

Strangely, not much wildlife, just a family of wallabies just out of town. The moon makes a difference.
Get first light coming over the hill at Lappa. Gotta worry about horses between there & Petford.
I wonder how much "winter" we'll get here this year. It was pretty close to perfect weather last year generally. We hardly had any really cold days.
Remember in my first year here it did get cold. Blustery winds in the daytime, blowing straight through my (unsuitable) jumper as I walked down the street. That was the year after Yasi. I swear that thing changed our weather.

We were in Coles in Innisfail last Thursday and the joint was a madhouse! the carpark was full and there were people everywhere. Gee you would think they were going to be closed the next day... oh wait, they were  Back to the weather, 60mm here overnight and it is raining again now.

Coles well stocked, as far as my needs go. Not much empty shelf space. Edit: forgot it was easter. My life is comparatively unchanged. Hard to actually grasp sometimes that they've actually shut down the whole planet. Tried to rain, but the force field seems extra strong today. We ended up got 4mm yesterday afternoon. What a delight, and a lovely big rainbow I almost missed.

Haha 28 Know the feeling.
Well surprise surprise a few showers this morning a day early but it is the Daintree.
Good thing the helicopter came yesterday and got a bit of spraying done.
And had the plumbers here putting on some new roof yesterday as well :) Just let these showers wash it
and hook up the guttering again.
Hope everyone is coping with this lock down stuff, I just wish the hoarders would stop,
still no TP or sugar or bread flour. I have not run out of anything yet but it is getting
low. Hard to believe can't buy sugar in Mossman.

No sugar in Mossman!! Yikes. Our Coles at Mareeba is up to task, but then all I really care about is fresh raw fruit and vegetables. Living so far away, I always keep a stash of toilet paper, but have a few old sheets I can cut up if it comes to that. IGA in Mareeba isn't doing that well, lots of empty shelves. I never go in there as they never have anything I want. Last two days woken to typical dry season blue skies, with not a cloud in sight. Although by the afternoon there's puffy clouds around, and enough late in the day for so-so sunsets. Still quite hot at 36 degrees daily -- can't remember if it was that warm last year or not. Might have to write the temps down daily. At least it's good laundry weather...

Hard to believe, but on Saturday arvo we had a short bit of a storm, 10mm in 5 minutes. Couple of cracks of thunder. Had hust pulled the boat out 🙄 It was hot and muggy enough.
At least in Sunday the young fella scored his first cobia and missus scored her PB trout.

So...another cloudless blue sky day today, and just a big glow for sunset.
In our tiny little village, we have extra police presence, with a vehicle driving around town a few times in the afternoon. The army is here too. Two vehicles with trailers at The Bottom Pub. There's a roadblock just west of town.

Good stuff Ron. Water looked good.
Not sure about all this roadblocks and our military stopping us traveling.
I understand where it is coming from, but it is all a bit over the top
police state for my liking.
It is very hard to get governments to relax powers after they have a taste
of it. As we come up to Anzac day we should remember that our freedom cost
us a lot of innocent lives.
