Well now 108mm up here.
Creek had a good flow up last night before dark , with about 150mm over our local bridge.
Some big falls for you guys south of Kans.
Just a shame it could not push over the hill and give 28 and others another drink before the real dry starts.

It's hard to believe it only just got to Mareeba, as in 1.6mm. The MJO weekly note hinting there may be more days of it to come, too.

Well I put my gauge away a couple of weeks ago, thinking that we were into the dry season and we were only likely to see some SE stream showers at worst..... I wont be applying for any BOM forecasting positions anytime soon... What did you end up with YS ..?..our closest gauge at Bulgun says 338mm for the 24hrs... I have a bit of shovelling to do once the creek goes down..I can see a metre high stack of silt and debris in my creek crossing... Bunyip, is it forecast to spread inland...? so far it seems to be confined to the coast and ranges... But next week looks dry cold and, more importantly, less windy so hopefully some fishing weather... Edited by user Wednesday, 20 May 2020 11:26:20 AM(UTC)

Looks wet south of Kans this arvo..
I was looking back and we had some sort of event on the 22/05/16
as I had 277mm
Scott: no not forecast to move inland , just wishful thinking.
Hickory: I only said to the mrs yesterday that if it was a tad
cooler I would get my tracky daks out, maybe next week.

Just a tad wet...knew I should have put my gauge back up... Bulgun is now over 500mm for the last 2 and a half days ...and still smashing down..Mission beach/Tully Rd has been cut off since this morning and our creek is about to burst its banks...

Have to keep the back sliding door closed as the water splashes back off the paving and through the screen door. 😠 Kookies never turned up for their late arvo feed,- maybe got a belly full eating whatever critters were looking for higher ground.

LOL.
Went to Mareeba this morning, and walked around in the nice rain. That was a treat.
Rained all the way out to Mutchilba.
Just overcast at Chillagoe, but the garden doesn't mind the shade.

And if the BoM can be believed, they are going for a 90% chance of 10-20mm for saturday. The weather has been so mixed up this year, it just may happen. Time will tell. Edited by user Thursday, 21 May 2020 7:50:01 PM(UTC)

Well now where did all that rain come from? other than the sky  250mm for Wed, 200mm for Thursday and wait for it......2mm for the past 24 hrs. I was actually quite surprised we had 250mm, i know it was raining all the time but it did not seem that heavy, it was one of those occasions were it juts creeps up. Other times it will be smashing down, you go check the gauge expecting that there will be way over 200mm and there is only a bit over 100

Yeah funny how that works Yassi.
Miss the WZ forum for the history, I had an event in 2016 on the 22/05 with 277mm
but know way to remember what was associated with it. Could of been the same sort
of thing I guess.
only 7mm here this morning , but continuing grey drizzle , with nothing showing on the radar.

The water in the creek is running so clear today ..its beautiful..I"m so glad the creek finally got a decent flush that it really hasn't had for the past couple of years really... My spreadsheet is showing 132.4mm for that same day here at Holloways,-but I've got no recollection as to what type of event caused it BoM still going for a 90% chance of rain for tomorrow.

Hey everyone. It "rained" for about 2 minutes. I'll probably forget to check the gauge tomorrow. Will probably have evaporated by the time I get up...lol.
