Hi. I follow some dudes in the US that have twitter accounts for anything polar vortex. My favourite at the moment is PV-Forecast (twitter) His observation is that there will be a polar vortex split in the northern hemisphere according to models. Look forward to see the ramifications

The Antartic has a massive ozone hole 2020/21. The opposite of last year. The reason is exceptionally cold stratosphere. A really good explanation of the chemical process and physics can be read at severe weather. eu web site. Andrej Flis Nov 2020 I highly recommend a visit I am on my mobile and they don’t let me copy the link There twitter page does but guess what l got suspended from twitter for posting a statement that people should do the research on side effects of vaccine. So l no longer have a twitter account cos l object to social engineering of our freedom of speech Anyway back to polar vortex and ozone hole. I suspect a strong positive SAM goes together with strong polar vortex and cold upper stratosphere ( large ozone hole). A further link downstream is the mid latitude high pressure belt system which contracts south toward the pole with a positive SAM EDIT Oh good . Just learnt how to copy URL on my phone Here is another fabulous report from severe weather eu on the likely split of the polar vortex in the northern hemisphere expected this month jan 2012 https://www.severe-weath...g-watch-january-2021-fa/Edited by user Sunday, 3 January 2021 1:13:12 PM(UTC)

I have noticed that UV Indexes for our part of the country have been up to 13 over the last couple of days. (Probably why I fried my neck yesterday)

Here is a detailed article on the polar vortex, the current stratospheric warming, and the polar vortex split which has happened. Following on from that some history of the effects of these events at the surface layer from previous years And Some model forecasts for countries most effected by this event in the coming weeks It is a long and in depth article but take what you want These guys publish such amazing detail. They leave no stone unturned. Severe weather.eu https://www.severe-weath...e-united-states-2021-fa/
