Am I really, Bunyip?
32mm in an hour yesterday.
Looks like we might have 270mm so far over 8 days. It's like a miracle.
Weird to wake up to a bright sunny day again.

G'day all, from just north of Mareeba. Was hearing a bit of a rumble out your way before 28degrees. Are you copping more? Just looking at the photos you sent, certainly looking lush. We've been missing out up until the new year I guess, 270 mls so far (more than the last four months last year). Wow scott123, they would still be waiting for help if not for the front end loader. Certainly a lot of downed scrub and banks to sort out!

And I thought it was all over, gone south, but no, last few hours has been rather heavy stormage.
Thankfully enough of a break yesterday partner misted for mossies while I managed a weed spray. Grass sure was jumping but the rideon has been keeping on top of it though the catcher on the other JD clogs too easily to pick up wet stuff.
We managed a shopping trip to Cairns thursday before the dingalings start clearing shelves and missed all the bits hanging off the hills on the way home. So home dry and restocked.
Oh and hello, blame scott for me being here. :))

Wonder what today will bring. More is forecast. Hopefully afternoon rain, as I'm off to Mareeba for a top up. Hoping Mareeba market will be on.

Only 37mm here, A neighbor just down the road a bit closer to the river got 47mm , 10 mm more in 3 km.
28 you are doing very well, with almost 100mm more than me here with only 235mm
Just finished cutting and branding a small mob with one of my neighbors, dam hot and sticky by 06:30
I have not heard from Marakai in ages..

I think we've already got about half our whole season's rainfall in the first 9 days. 325mm already. Bearing in mind our whole season is probably equal to a coastal month's falls...lol. Reckon Chillagoe is making up for our lack of rain last year. I went away mid January to mid February & completely missed the wet Season. The few falls we had before and after were brief storm rains. Pity others haven't found their way here, I never thought to keep looking for sites and the ones I had joined either seem to have failed or won't let me in to message other people about this place.
Shame we have to experience violent weather to attract people but that's life.
Certainly been an 'interesting' start to the season, haven't had to unplug/shut down and dig out my gadgets to get a fan and reading light running off a mini power source in a long time.

Well, that was a handy 96mm starting around 6am. I was thinking the southeasterly flow was re-etablishing and on comes a blob... and sits, and sits, but now it's a bit off the coast and who knows where it'll go. Looking at Nullschool I see this area is full of random wind movements which explains a lot.

I looked at Nullschool, and it was just confusing...lol.
Seems there's more rain predicted. Enjoying it while it lasts, but the grass grows while you look at it. 😀

Yes I was watching that blob on the radar this morning too Dormant, it was only a few k's north of us and just wouldn't move that little bit south for us! Nothing here in the last 24 hrs and only 20 mm from the edge of that storm out your way on Friday night 28.
Just looking at my stats for January here Yasi (I only go back to 2012), and we're about 100 mm behind our January average already. Which seems odd as it hasn't seemed to be that wet yet this month. I suppose every wet day adds up!
Just noticing things starting to bubble up a bit on the radar out west, so best get another few hours on the mower before what ever may eventuate this arvo!
