453mm for novemeber at my place, looks like i might have even beat the bunyip on the mighty daintree for the first time for a monthly total i will take that. More heavy rain falling today with these storms around, might be a wet decemeber i reckon. |

Sounds wonderful GT.
143mm for the month here.
These last few days have been beautiful. First time in my 12 years here that it's rained *properly* all night.

Nice storms yesterday arvo, not smashing just nice gave 53mm this morning and a few showers continue for now.
Not sure we will see the big falls predicted earlier in the week, but it's nice all the same.
Cheers

Morning all Nice drop Bunyip. We had 45mm with 18 of it by 6.30 last night. This weather is gorgeous. Cool, a very fresh 25degreesC. Edit: 3.40pm - looks like the rain is finished for us for a while. I had a fantasy that it would keep up for a few more weeks. Edited by user Thursday, 1 December 2022 3:39:22 PM(UTC)

Yes 28 it looks to have finished with nothing showing on the charts for the next week or so...awesome for you to get some good falls though...I'm sure the weeds most appreciate it..lol..
It was patchy down this way with us getting just over 100mm for the event, some nearby places double that..
Neighbor measured 150mm for the month with 5 out of the past 6 months being sub-200mm....its been a true dry season for us..not like the lush green daintree thats for sure...

Yup. Nice and warm again today, after reasonably coolish weather. It's only 31.5 degrees so guess I can't complain. The weeds are loving it. It's so green now. With those two unseasonal falls we had a few months back, the yard had only *just* got to be brownish before it rained again. So looks like we might actually have a "green season" this year. Pity you didn't get more down there.

Woo hoo. 28mm.
Amazing electrical storm just after 7pm, for about an hour. Best I've seen since I've lived here. 12 years. Then another crackling cell rolled through about 2.30am.
Not seen this much early rain since my first year here 2010.
Power went out for 15-20 minutes.
I recently discovered a large huntsman behind a photo frame. I've never seen him otherwise.
After the storm, I was reading in the living room. He came running out along the top of the wall, then onto the ceiling. He was fast, and seemed erratic. He was darting back & forward, waving his legs around. He seemed distressed? They're usually slow & patient aren't they?

Woo Hoo alright, sounds like a lovely storm. Sure could use a bit of action down here.
Neighbors mower caught fire Saturday and burnt a good few acres of hillside. Hot exhaust on the long grass as he was mowing a drain.
Not a fan of spiders inside 28° .
Cheers

Didn't even blow the lid off the compost bin. But - the rest of town had leaves and branches, and big branches blown off. A few trees snapped in half, and a few blown over and uprooted. The creek was a yellowy brown and up considerably. Interesting all round.

few good storms the last few arvo's but stuff all rain. Spent 30mins just on dark the other night sitting in a paddock watching the lightning on the hills as the storm passed, had the dog with me and she just sat beside me watching the flashes.
Been waiting on this forecast rain all week, now it's all sitting off the coast :(
Cheers

Was that Thursday Bunyip? Not a thing near us on radar, but noticed the odd flash to the northeast over the Featherbeds.
Coming home today, as I left Mareeba it absolutely dumped, all the way out to Arriga. Slow driving. Of course the rest of the drive was on bright sunshine.
Maybe this season I might have to finally replace my windscreen wipers. Haven't really needed them enough the last few years.

114mm here this morning was very nice to wake up to.
Yes I think it was Thursday evening, was just a nice time with my dog watching the action with me.
Be nice to see a bit of weather develop over the next week, but it looks like only a weak monsoon trough will form. Looking forward to the real wet stuff.
cheers

Couple of inches in the last couple of days. First month over 100mm since July. Has been quite a dry few months, was enjoying it lol.
Anyone on FB on Pilkos chat on weather (PCOW)? based in Darwin but a few from Cairns area on there. |

131mm here overnight brings me up to 3431mm for the year, hoping the next week and a half brings plenty of rain big end to the year. |

Wow - a cyclone west of Darwin, tracked down over Wadeye. How did I miss that yesterday... And a cyclone before Christmas.
Nothing to report here. Apparently rain all around us. Nice and cool though at 27.1 degrees.

Nice quick development of that little blow up north. Pity it was only a cat 1 as will do very little to clean up Wadeye.
Only 7mm here this morning.
Cheers
