Ended up with 110mm, I wouldn't have been surprised with higher totals with the amount of water that was getting about. Saw some serious water on Warner Rd on a video my mate sent me. No stations that record between Morgan Rd Gordonvale and the Cairns Racecourse that come up on the rainfall map. Edited by user Thursday, 5 January 2023 9:55:59 AM(UTC)

77.5mm here this morning. First time this wet we've had more than 50mm in White Rock. I hope we all get plenty of downpours like that in the coming months.

Yeh mate this happens up here too, big gaps between stations and locally there can be huge differences in rainfall especially with these heavy squalls/storms that coming through from the NW, for example coral sea drive in Mossman is already up to 300mm for the year however if you look at the bureaus monthly totals up to today for the new year it shows whyanbeel in front on 206mm which is about 7km from Mossman. I got 3552mm for the year yet someone i know exactly 2.5km from my house as the crow flies got 3902mm HUGE difference over short area. |

19mm this morning. A bit lower than expected but that can happen when these lows pass to the south. Maybe a bit more rain in the next few days.

83mm in the gauge this morning. About 50mm of that fell yesterday by 7pm, with most of it from a big heavy downpour about 11am.
Creek is absolutely raging, and has apparently been over the bridge 4 or 5 times by now. It's well and truly being flushed.

That's great 28degrees, sounds like Chillagoe is having a great run of wet weather. Good stuff. I hope it continues.

48mm in White Rock. Little line of showers formed through this area from the SW. Some quite heavy. Cool and rainy most of the night.

Another 20mm, not crazy totals, but after the 100+mm in one arvo we have some pretty soggy ground around Gordonvale. |

39mm in the gauge this morning. I agree with ronfishes, not huge totals here in White Rock either but the backyard is very boggy. The buffalo grass is loving it. Good to see your still getting great falls there in Chillagoe 28degrees.

No idea where I came across it. Did someone here post it? https://zoom.earth/#view=-25.9,133,4z/map=liveEdit: It's got a good day/night thing as well. Now I can see why my friend in Melbourne thinks it's okay to ring while it's still dark up here. Edited by user Sunday, 8 January 2023 12:36:51 PM(UTC)

Thanks Bunyip. It seems like a miracle.
We just had another good downpour, giving us about 18mm in half an hour.
Bit of thunder earlier on. All the dogs in town freaking out.

6mm in White Rock in the last 3 days. You could be right FNQ Bunyip, there might finally be a bit more of an eastily flow coming in which could give some good rain to coastal areas. Good to see your big wet continues in Chillagoe 28degrees. Some amazing radar images out your way lately.
