1 old fella I was talking to says never give up May just might surprise us but I'm not so sure.

The few showers we have been catching are nice but they are not really here nor there.

I wonder what sort of a dry you will have 28, hopefully still get a few showers and keep a bit of green
around for you.

Might borrow my mates polesaw this weekend, oil pump and drive gear have turned up for
my little saw, so with these cooler overcast days it's a good time to trim stuff.

oops..either 126mm or 151mm this week..either way its pretty soggy wet, cool and breezy and some may like the definate change to cooler weather but I'm not a fan...

Seems that the council or BOM has finally fixed the local rain gauges and we are getting readings again..

BOM is saying any further monsoonal activity is very unlikely so it looks like the highs and accompanying Sou- easters and miserable showers will set in..oh joy..

Hey Bunyip is it getting too cold and wet to be hacking back fruit trees now though you guys dont seem to be getting the stream showers yet..would it increase the chances of rot on the exposed cuts or do you paint them or seal or cover large cuts at all..?

A mate of mine arrived in TI from Indonesia on a yacht on Thursday. They arrived just in time for the first proper SE winds of the season and now they are stuck there with no end in sight.

97mm here this morning from constant SE showers, plenty of wind with it.
Pot belly is nice to have :)

As expected, no rain here, but can feel the rain around.

60mm overnight here. Nothing heavy, just fairly steady rain most of the night. At least the rain filled the bird bath, that hasn't happened for a while.

More rain, 42mm overnight and the pool is well and truely overflowing.

119mm, 46mm and 16mm over the past 3 days....as mentioned by Tropo and Weary only 15km north-west of us got plenty of totals around and over the 300mm mark...

Anyway blue sky here this arvo and it looks like some decent weather on the way towards the weekend..

Took the boat down today to get a water hose fixed that split last trip 2 and a half weeks ago..25K motor and a 5 dollar part almost undid us...warranty job that I patched with red electrical tape to get us home after a failed reef trip...when the hose let go water sprayed, under pressure inside the cowl, all over the motor causing it to run like a dog but thankfully we were only halfway to the reef but still an hour and a half trip back at 7 knots to make it home...new hose, lower points and plugs replaced and a tonne of mako oil sprayed on..hopefully all good to go on the weekend..

Bloody Hondas ay Ah I think it outboards in general. My Yammy had a trim motor die on the way in to Deeral, trimmed up to creep over the sand bar on a super low tide and wouldn't trim back down again so couldn't get back on the plane. Makes the trip up river pretty long lol. At least I could get the young fella to undo the grub screw so I could manually lift the motor at the ramp. Mechanically sweet for over 300 odd hrs now though.

Rainfall numbers tapering off now. Still well below April average here.

124mm for April for me well below average leaves me with 2381mm for the year so far. Looks like bunyip is 2mm from going over the 3 metre mark and looks to be leading the north tropical coast by a fair way. Heavyweights around Tully and Innisfail are only just getting up around the 2100mm mark. Russel river approx 2600mm and ultra heavy weights Babinda haven’t weighed in for 2 months but no doubt they will be up there but I don’t think anyone will be in front of bunyip so far for the year.
