Hi GT , yeah it's been a good wet over here even if April is about 200 down from Avg.
I think a few gauges over at Cow bay & Cape Trib might even have done a bit better than me.

A light shower here this morning around 08:30. They are forming up a section of our road to lay cement so it doesn't wash away
every time it rains, should see us get a bit of rain to slow things down lol

Cheers

Hope they get the engineering right.

We've got a whole section of road on the other side of our bridge that has now been washed away twice. Dry creek comes in at right angles, turns into a torrent those brilliant minds thought would actually turn a corner instead of going straight ahead.

The pics were from February, but yes, it's still green but not quite as bright. Think we've seen the last of the rain now. Last rain on 20 April - total for this year 1477mm (if I've added it correctly).

Well was a wet old Daintree arvo left 38mm in my gauge.

28 Things like that boil my piss, someone should be held accountable for the costs of fixing these stuff ups, but it never happens
and tax/rate payers just keep paying.
Here they turned up with a grader and have now lowered the road so when the cement goes on it will still be below the old road
making this deeper should really get the water flowing.
Dumbos left the work site with nowhere for any water to run so after a wet afternoon yesterday there was 300mm + dammed up in red slop
not the hard gravel we had.

Cheers

It's like they can't think outside what they were taught. If it wasn't taught it doesn't exist. They've been dumbing down people for a few generations now. An old stockman from the Kimberley told of how the "new road" dammed water in the wet season where it never normally lay - and destroyed hundreds of acres of pastureland. Remember a 6 or 7 years ago, the flood through the Cool Waters caravan park - below the built up main road...!

No weather news out here. Temperatures heading towards perfect. Days still warm but becoming less hot.

2.5mm here for the first week of the month. It's been looking like rain a few times but not much action. A nice morning with a gentle breeze and 32C under the shade sail though.

Cold wet and drizzly here last couple of days, got the pot belly burning last years Lychee trimmings.
Beef Soup bones on the pot belly for a hearty soup tonight.

Good morning everyone.

I was away for a week. Apparently 2.5mm last Wednesday night.

Woke to 17.1 degrees this morning, and now at 9.45am it's still only 23 degrees. I'd been managing in a t-shirt but finally gave up and put a cardigan on just now. Have to dig out the uggies next. A very cool breeze blowing, with occasional strong gusts - and it's getting dusty again Sad .

Not a cloud in the sky yesterday, not much in the sky today except for a small area of hazy cloud.

Welcome back 28. It's been nice weather here for the last week or so. Good for jobs like mowing and weeding. The rainfall seems as though it's a little below average so far for May.

Hi 28 & SM , Ron started a new thread for the dry season :)

Yeah 28 it was probably too much to ask to get another nice and green dry in Chillagoe, but
I hope you don't get too much dust.

Been a wet night here whit showers coming through on these high winds and no end in sight for these winds
with another high lined up behind this one.

Cheers
