Great image of Australia's rainfall 28. A little bit in Perth, Darwin and western Tassie but nothing else. The last couple of days here have been fairly dry and windy. Lots of white cockatoos around. They're driving us crazy.

YTD: 2107.5mm It's a handy page that one. You can look 4 days ahead or 8 days ahead. Still as windy as. Blowing a gale at times. We see white cockatoos, but not many. Saw a yellow tailed black cockatoo this morning. I missed the rest of them. But pink & grey galahs - omg, hundreds of them, and when they have their young ones you just want to leave town for their incessant calling. EDIT: This is another favourite map, especially for out here - temperatures. Clicking on 1600hrs shows the hottest. http://www.bom.gov.au/au...chartSubmit=Refresh+ViewTemps have been very mild and comfortable, and parts of the daytime have been a bit on the cool side especially when the wind is constant. Looks like it will be pretty hot again by Tuesday next week. Edited by user Saturday, 16 September 2023 1:42:30 PM(UTC)

Beautiful September weather at the moment, nice and warm when I mowed the yard today. Looks like it's coming up again for the weekend though. 20-30 Kts and a few showers around by Sunday.

Hopefully looks better when there's something happening. The old version I could see everything at a glance, the new I have to scroll even when I've resized the page down a couple sizes. Just checked on my phone, a large Oppo. Fits on the page, but the map is way too small. Messy trying to zoom. Might be fine if on a giant desktop screen, or a tablet, but this little vegemite isn't too happy with it. They've got the right idea, but who designed it? Signs of reduced funding I guess. Edit: May have been affected by the Windows 11 update today. They've made it look pretty, but some things require too much scrolling where before you could see at a glance. Grrr. 44.5mm here so far this month. A little under the average of 50.
Thanks Weary, it's a good idea by the BOM. They've got to get the forecast accurate though or it might just scare people. The GFS forecast at 7 days out doesn't seem to happen very often.

Thanks Weary But I wish they would just concentrate on getting forecasts and data right and stop playing with things that are not broke.
4mm this morning gets me too 201mm for September just a bit over double my average
Cheers

Didn't improve much here. Ended up with 45mm for the month.
Went to Innisfail for the sister in law birthday party on Friday night, the weather there was nice as well. The traffic between Cairns and Innisfail was incredible though, they definitely need more passing lanes. Less stress on us more steady drivers. The new bit between here and Gordonvale is great.

Cool, thanks Weary, added to bookmarks. Haven't had time to look at the weather lately, haven't even checked the rain gauge for a few weeks at least. |

Warm days this last week. 38°C and 100°F in the old money. At least it's not 40°+ every day, like it was one October 4 or 5 years back.

40mm here for the last 4 days. That could be it for a while. Looks like the BOM has forecast less cyclones this season.

YTD: 2175.5mm Made it to 40° today. Yep. Sure hanging out for a storm or two. At least with temps this high there's a possibility.

And the radar is down again , not really a problem at this point in time but after a major refit only just completed you would think it could work for a few years without an outage.
Warming up but the mornings are still cool with a good flow of morning fog rolling down the river each morning just before sunrise. Still have not put irrigation in so it's lots of dragging hoses around each arvo ,,lol
Cheers

Seems just a couple of weeks ago I was praying for the rain to stop and now I'd love some more but the outlook ahead looks like very slim pickings.....
Still very nice weather though with very plaeasant coolish nights and warm but not hot days, certainly nowhere near 40c that some are seeing....
March flies have settled down after a couple of weeks of misery that even had me running in to the menswear store to buy a longsleeved light coloured cotton shirt for protection..
Great boating weather lately too..water visibility was also great at the reef yesterday.
I am also a member of the hose dragging brigade Bunyip....quite a few holes in the hoses from the White tails that ends up spraying water everywhere..patched up a couple of holes in the 2 inch mainline from the bugga's as well..
