Sorry for the sideways pic dunno what i did but the muissus is enjoying a glass of bubbly out in the middle of the pond and our boy and his girlfriend are on the other side with the dogs keeping an eye out except the staffy is MIA probably chewing a stick..

Looks like a great spot Scott. Very lucky to have that.
A few showers yesterday and this morning, really just enough to keep the humidity right up there.
Plenty of wet season to come yet 28, just have to be patient, lol
Cheers

A quiet start to JAN. Only 5mm so far here. By the look of things we should be able to improve on that in the next week.
A nice spot for a hot day there Scott.

One of the many storms finally gave us some rain. Then sprinkling for a little while into the evening.

Was awoken by my Vizsla sitting on my head at some ungodly hour. Nothing quite like the feeling of a warm dogs ass on your ear :) :) Storms have never bothered her before Jasper, seems she might have a bit of PTSD. Ended up with 27mm in the gauge this morning. :)
Yeah seems like we could get a bit of monsoon action , but the MJO is crashing so it could come back on forecast.
Cheers

Almost doubled our JAN total overnight with 4mm.
The GFS has been a bit undecided the last few days but it has come into line this morning for heavy rainfall ahead. We'll see.

I think it can be a bit of a lucky dip at this time of year 28. Those storms out your way haven't been making it to this part of the coast. We did double the monthly total so far overnight with 9mm so things are looking up.

Well a wet night here with 237mm this morning. Slept like a baby and think it's a nice morning to light the pot belly as it continues to pour down :)

Good afternoon all :)
We have had a few hours of only light drizzle but the rain is ramping back up now.
What's the go with the MJO stalling and crashing ? It's been years since I've seen a strong signal cross our quadrants.
We don't need a big wet but I have a suspicion that we are going to get a ripper.
Will check gauge around 18:00 and report back
Cheers

I normally don't follow what the MJO is up to Bunyip but it normally moves through pretty quickly doesn't it. If it's stalled over our area we could be in for an interesting couple of weeks. A bit of rain starting to form off Cairns again as well. Edit: GFS is still calling heavy rain for the next week or so. Edited by user Friday, 12 January 2024 5:34:42 PM(UTC)
