112mm from a nice wet night :)
Looks like the action has slipped north fairly quickly, I wonder if we will continue to get showers or is it clearing ?
Yeah Scott, things around here are bloody wet, and I'm a little apprehensive about what could come if March lives up to
past performance. A quick arvo shower sends all the creeks over in a blink, a couple of real wet days could give us
another flood event very easily..
Weatherzone forecast for here is very wet week ahead. see what happens :)

11mm from early evening storm.
Looks like the rain will ease off for over the next few days. But we could get an early afternoon storm, since I've just put on a load of washing... It feels like it anyway.

28.5mm here in the gauge this morning. A nice bit of thunder out Fitzroy Island way yesterday afternoon. Drizzle around today.
No thanks Weary, we have a couple of big green frogs and heaps of curlews and white cockatoos to keep us entertained.

27mm down here..
Since I emptied my pond on the front verandah last year and havent got around to fixing the render and waterproofing yet its been a blessing for us....no frog choir every night like before..I used to take a few away every week during the wet season because of their noisy antics but this wet its been very peaceful...seriously thinking about just turning the pond into a nice planter box..

We had a quick visit from the Orange blob last night. Very heavy for a while there. Still it was a surprise to find 51.5mm in the gauge this morning.
MAR: 81.5mm

only 26mm here this morning , But hearing of good totals down your way Scott ??
There was a pond here when we moved in, right at the front of the house, getting a digga in and moving all the big rocks
and filling in the hole was the best $400 bucks we have spent on this place so far lol .. Love the frog song in the wet
but down the creek is close enough.. :)
Yeah SM looks like a wet second half of this week. :)
Need a couple of good wet days yet, and another little flood would be ok , just to clean up some of this left over debris..

Tully had another visit from the blob last night..I see 248mm for the Tully dump and 161mm in Town over a couple of hour period..
Just 55mm for us sitting on the northern edge of it..I could see and hear it form over Tully at about midnight and ran out with a shovel and headlamp to clean out a couple of drains which had been overflowing and causing a bit of a small river to flow right past the back door...been meaning to do it for weeks now but the severity of these intense downpours finally urged me into action..
I see some of the weather boffins getting a bit excited about the interaction of the returning MJO and the monsoon trough next week creating the possibility of lows forming into cyclones along it....yeah I wouldnt mind another creek flush out or 2 but am hoping to see no cyclonic activity .

That's a couple of great downpours for Tully in the last week or so. Things seem to be getting back to normal there. More to come I think.
Just 5.5mm overnight here from a shower or two.

Yes SM there is a lot of moisture sitting off the coast at the moment....looks to be just pondering its next blobby visit..the ground is so saturated that we can do without ..hopefully someone else gets a turn...

75 mm for us though Tully has readings of 120-130mm so its starting to fightback in the Golden Gumboot stakes..
Seeing some reports of low lying roads starting to flood...the ground is just so saturated..
with more of the same throughout the week and really ramping up over the weekend and next week, particularly with these convergent rainfall events, we could easily see some major flooding on the way....

It's been a fairly quiet start to MAR here. 25mm since this morning is better however. I see a 20-30kt SE forecast for Friday, maybe autumn is upon us.

Still fairly warm down here 28, no need for blanket or jeans :)
this SE surge is interesting, but I don't think it is the start of trade wind season just yet,
looks to be a lot of tropical influence coming in the week ahead.

Ended up with 30mm here. Not much at all overnight. Plenty of blue around this morning.
I agree, it's too early to give up on the wet season yet.

The Daintree has more than traffic hazards as I noticed in this main roads traffic photo at Barratt Creek the other day. It's just starting to rain here again.
