Crossing over the top of the Cape, turn around in the Gulf, and maybe give us some rain out here on its return trip. Not holding my breath.

Spent yesterday arvo planting out seedlings and putting seeds :)
Then 42mm in a nice little storm. Bugga , guess we will be replanting this arvo.

Yeah it's been a great season so why not 1 more system to close it off with :)

42mm Bunyip? You're a little further inland than us, I spose, and that lot was fairly coastal. Pretty sure we had an empty gauge at the start and this morning threw out 75mm. And it felt like 75mm! Unplugged everything upon the first rumble at the later stage but didn't see any lightning. Was enough to carry last weeks fertilizer out to the reef, or shouldn't I say that?

Was wondering if/when to plant seedlings. When hot they don't come up but based on your now sad ezperience, Bunyip, I'll go ahead and sow some in pots inside.

Blue sky here again this morning. WZ not showing to much rain for Cairns in the next week or so. A 20-40mm on Monday is about the max.

Big rain for us Tully types if this is right but these forecasts are always a week out with numerous changes before it happens...so we will wait and see.

and try and get some mowing and spraying done now just in case it does eventuate..

Not a cloud in the sky here this morning. 14.5 mm from a quick heavy shower last night.

Bom are still going for high chance of showers back from Monday with that sort of trough heading in from the Coral sea.

BOM saying the cyclone will be short-lived. On that track it should give us a nice SE flow for a few days.

Edit at 1900: BOM has the cyclone no chance of impacting the Qld coast. After a few of their calls lately it could be a bit of a concern.

Yesterday BOM was only at 15% of a cyclone even forming yet today there is a cat 2 sitting out there....and no weary, even Higgins states that it wont impact QLD..that must have been just so hard for him to write that...

Yes Ron its likely to be a sloppy troughy thing at this stage though the heaviest rains have now been pushed back to mid-next week and onward...who knows we just wait and see..like SM mentions with some of the forecasts of late I'll beleive it when I see it..

Absolute cracker of a week dowm here though with no rain recorded..plenty of mowing and spraying finally getting done.....

BTW I jumped the fence and climbed the cassowary bridge the other day...they had to build stairs to get up it as the actual slope is to steep to actually walk or climb up and then once you get to the bottom of the tarped area it drops off almost vertically to a creek and the train line below......40 million and counting so far and I'd say trying to even stabilize the slope will have ongoing costly issues..

BTW for perspective the tarped areas are right at the very top and dropping over the western side of the structure itself....

I can actually see the back part of my property at the base of the mountain in the first pic..its even closer then I thought...
