The sea breeze effect. Hey Eddie, Great to see a fellow New South Wales-ian on the forum. Plus what a lovely part of the world you are in. I had many a fun school holiday in your area.

We are on the news "Sydney will also be dry and hot with gloriously sunny days, highs of 24C and lows of 10C. But head to the western suburbs and the baking conditions ratchet up several notches, with Penrith looking at 29C on Wednesday, seven degrees above average, albeit with cooler mornings. “The sea breezes will keep Sydney’s CBD a bit cooler but in the western suburbs, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday, it could easily nudge into the 30s,” Mr Sharpe said." You can read about it of watch the you tube https://www.news.com.au/...73fa4106e4acf18f8afd5797Penrith is 29.4deg c now at 3.30pm! and sydney harbour a beautiful 19 deg c.,A difference of 10xeg between the two atm. Seabreeze Eddy..Thanks for the tip An interesting contrast between dew points. Quite high north of Sydney where they had rain and some very low dew points in the metropolitan

Hi Pabloako, I would imagine you're more familiar with Nelson Bay? Im on the other side of the Port, but yeah its a great place. Maxed out at 26.3c before the sea breeze became established.

Ahhh.,Beautiful soothing photos for the sore eyes this morning Eddy. I love Port Stephens. Stayed there quite a few times. Have memories of catching my first flathead on dog beach in town.A reminder l must go back again. Lots of talk about fire risk atm. A quick look at NSW fire authority shows the main high fire danger is in the NE of the state today.,BOM forecast talking up windy this afternoon in Sydney with a very warm 29. So captured this 1 pm shot from meteye using firefox brand new capture function. Actually the stronger winds were 4pm for Sydney. Handy and quick

1.2 degrees this morning with a Max of 31 forecast. Just hit 23 degrees as I`m typing this with the humidity at 14%. Expecting wind from the NW to W & gusts to 50 kph today with raised dust. Total Fire Ban for much of my area. |

ACC r showing some action Sydney and surrounds around 4pm today for radar watchers. Looks pretty healthy with a surface low and Moderate Rain signal and guessing embedded storms. South of Sydney for the strongest signal here. Kiama region perhaps source http://www.bom.gov.au/au...chartSubmit=Refresh+View

When I look around here and think it is dry, I then see where you are! Hopefully farmers haven't lost too much top soil. Edited by user Friday, 6 September 2019 3:56:49 PM(UTC)
