I don't recall an extreme wind event right across the state like this. There was some strong contrasts in temperature today between the north and south of eastern Australia that likely contributed Some of the highest gusts near 7pm in Sydney metro atm. Whats available any way. Sydney harbour 100km/hr Bankstown 85km/hr Fort Denison 91km/hr Kurnell 95km/hr Sydney airport 102km/hr Wattamollam85km/hr OMG.,Look at the Ilawarra and south coast.,I will take some snaps

It has been an interesting weather day today!. Have also been keeping an eye on it all day. Looks like the cows(not mine) are being fed Cotton Seed by the looks of the white patches on the ground. It is looking pretty dire out this way but it is far worse out to the west on the plains in places like Narrabri & Moree, thats where a lot of the dust that hit us originated. I recorded a gust of 65 kph at 12:45 today, but that was in town. Mt Borah, 40 km to the south recorded a gust of 95 kmh. Moree, Narrabri & Gunnedah had gusts around the 80 kph mark. Looks like it will be a day spent dusting tomorrow! |

Min temps from around my area. Armidale -1.7 Gunnedah 0.8 Tamworth 1.4 Woolbrook -2.0 Guyra 0.0 Seems unusual that our Minimums are quite often colder than higher altitudes, I`m at 500 m ASL were Armidale, Woolbrook & Guyra are up over 1000 m. Definitely seem to be in a "Frost Hollow" here. Looks like that might be the end of the sub zero morning temps for this year. Edited by user Wednesday, 11 September 2019 5:06:46 PM(UTC)
