Well my first post in this forum. ( I am an old weatherzone member )I am currently sitting holed up in my 16ft van in Mackay and to say it is wettish is an understatement. I have been watching the water rise in the Beaconsfield - Kerrisdale area and constantly checking the predicted wind gusts in case I need to drop my pop top. I see I am possibly the only local here, well so be it, I will try to report the weather as I see it and if anyone cares to join in the discussion that will be wonderful. So the topic I am considering is a possible low forming further north in the next ten days or so and its possible impact on my region as I have seen spruked on FB. I have checked GFS and it does show a low forming around the 26th of Jan. I will watch and wait to see if it will indeed spoil my proposed long weekend.

Hi Wettish and welcome! It isn't a bad part of the world where you are at the moment. I hope it is warmer there than down here! We have a several days now of low temperatures and cool nights this week and I am dreaming of some tropical evenings with a cold beer!
