LOL...don't think I'll need to mow again for a while. Monday morning was 17.5degrees, no wonder I froze during the night. Last night I put a blanket over the doona. Might need a hot water bottle tonight.  Thank gawd for merino clothing and ugg boots.

1mm in the last 5 days. It's just starting to get that showery look again. It got down to 18.5°C here 28. Very cool.
I saw a boat coming into the Yorkeys Knob boat ramp the other day, a good 20+ Knots blowing, he looked very relieved to be back as well. He was the only boat out.
It looks like our carport is finally set to happen. All the parts arrived on a truck yesterday. Fingers crossed.

WZ forecast for Cairns of 1-5mm days looking good so far, 4mm in the gauge the last 2 days. Nice cool 23°C at 6 this morning.

25mm the past 2 days but at least its warmed up a bit at night...looks like more of the samwe for at least another week.. The good news is that the 10 day charts show the highs starting to move east a bit later in a weeks time which hopefully starts to indicate that typical winter pattern of highs moving eastward with a bit of a trough in between giving a bit of a break in the wind and showers between the highs....its when the highs remain stationary that causes these endless wind and showers driving us all nuts...I certainly hope this turns out to be the case. It doesnt look too bad in Cairns in the week ahead SM...they might even get a decent crack at erecting your carport mate...even if they have to use the old trick of putting the screwgun in a plastic bag when doing the roof.. 2.5mm here ..quite a nice day today actually..just s few light showers.. Yeah 28 I find tornados just facinating too... with such unpredictibility meaning they although conditions conducive to tornado formation(supercell thunderstorms) can be forecast actual tornados cant really be predicted more then 10 minutes out...and of course the path is also very unpredictable.....that must just make them absolutely terrifying for the people in those areas.. Yeah that crazy vehicle cost him more then a million bucks to build I heard...i hope he has good insurance..

It just keeps falling up here now only 6mm off 4m YTD after another wet night with 15mm in the gauge this morning ...
Followed Reed for a number of years, His enthusiasm for getting into a twister is catchy, That feeling of being poo scared at the same
time as being totally invincible and adrenaline pumping through your veins must be something else.. A morbid type of fascination with
something so dangerous.
Good to see the renewable energy will be up for renewal :) :) :)

8.5mm overnight, takes us past the monthly average. That's 5 out of the last 6 months above or well above average. Only Feb was slightly below.
I've seen video of the 1999 Oklahoma City F5 tornado and it was incredibly powerful, just like a big blender I reckon.
The guys turned up to start the carport today, hooray. Still showering here though.

Starting to see a dip in the forecast, could it be blue skies and smooth waters ???
Another 12mm this morning and it has showered all day again.

Not content with living in Cyclone alley now apparently we are Earthquake central with the "epicentre" just a couple of clicks west of us....didnt feel a thing here though plenty of Tully types were wondering what was the large bang and little bit of shakin' goin' on.. and oh dear back to that inch a day [censored]for the past week with quite heavy showers again this morning..had to use 4WD to actually make it up the hill on my driveway yesterday...i think the car will remain parked till it dries out a bit as I really dont need to mess up the road too much. Dont know about blue skies and smooth waters Bunyip but now these highs are actually on the move we may get a bit of a repreive in between them..its a start anyway.. and that Tornado vid was quite ironic huh..! Big old wind turbines being destroyed by...uh..wind.. Does anyone else see the hypocrisy of all the environmental conservation laws that have been introduced over the past couple of decades and yet in the effort to go green we are happy to create so much environmental destruction from these farms, road and transmission line infrastructure and associated mining needed to produce it all as well as buying nearly all the componentry from China which is being produced from all the coal and gas we sell them but dont want to use ourselves.... Normal weather for this time of year. Dank cool cloudy mornings til 9.30-10 o'clock, need the lights on inside. Then the sun comes out, then disappears again. Fair breeze blowing a lot of the time. The government of the day in the late 80's missed a trick by not completing the Tully-Millstream project. We might not have needed all these windmills today.

Anyway 53mm here in the past 24, mostly last evening in some quite heavy showers... and nah 28 this government is the worst and seems hell bent on putting us back in the dark ages.. Frame is up and posts get poured today Scott. Roofing goes on tomorrow and finish off on Saturday hopefully. The weather is looking better for the next few days which should dry things out a bit.
From memory with the Tully-Millstream, old Joh got thrown out, Labour got in and canned the project.
