19mm here this morning. Forecast was for 1-20 so it was pretty good. A couple of wz 20-40 forecasts coming up so it could get a bit wetter in the next day or so.

YTD: 208.5mm

Edit 0938: Access-g model looking a lot more promising for the next 10 days than GFS this morning.

48mm here...

Yep access G model and folks selling weather subscriptions all pinning big rainfall hopes and wild wet season weather on that low forming in the gulf and moving accross to us next weekend...

we can only wait and see..

At least its cooled down a bit...

Its looks like some fast moving showers might hit Cairns and north today while its pretty clear down here although 40-80mm are now forecast for us the next couple of days..pretty hit or miss at the moment...

I picked up 102mm this morning :)
And it has rained almost constantly since, not heavy but steady.

Like the look of that one, but not a fan of it all going south :)

Cheers

Threaten the weather gods and they will retaliate apparently...Got a bit of mowing done before the heavens opened up...

Looks like you northern guys are copping it now and it looks like a lot more moisture being dragged onto the coast...could be quite a wet evening ahead..enjoy folks..!BigGrin

Edit 2.26pm....and the first flood watch is out for between Innisfail and Ingham..

http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDQ20900.html

Although its not even raining very much yet, is it just me, or does it look like on the 512 radar that all the rain from Cooktown to Whitsundays is actually all moving in the direction of Tully..?

Will enjoy the rain Scott. The radar looks good, the sky is very dark out to the NE. Only a few drops here and there at the moment. That should change soon.

Just checked the gauge, 25mm today so far. Still raining steady. Flood watch between Innisfail and Ingham has been issued. Tully for tomorrow 60-250mm.

GFS coming a little back into line with Access-g now.

Yeah I think we are going to miss this one.
Looks to me like it will slip south and leave us with more hot weather..
Hope I'm wrong..

Cheers

It's pouring here at the moment Bunyip. We seem to be in a bit of a zone or something. Testing my new fence barrier big time.

Interesting SM..it looks like the rotation on the radar is bringing it back your way..is it squally rain..?.ccouple of hours again we got a very squally rainband..noticed on BOM that Lucinda had up to 40 knot gusts and there were reports of trees and powerlines down at Mission beach

BTW what are those sleepers you fitted held in place with..?

Hi All,

looks like it's that time of year again!

BOM have 3 systems they're watching on the 7 day forecast. One in the Gulf and 2 to the east in the Coral Sea.

Been here nearly 30 years and l can't remember a scenario of more than one, is this a first?

Cheers and HNY and Thanks

mb :)

Welcome back 28. Just checked the gauge before bedtime. 84mm so far and still raining quite heavy. We'll see what the morning brings.

Hi monkeybusiness, your right very unusual to have three systems going at once. I can't remember that before myself.

Not much wind here Scott. The centre of a bit of a circulation seems to be off Cape Trib so the further south the stronger the wind may be. Used teck screws to hold on the sleepers which was easy.

Rain just starting to come in a bit heavy again.

Well it's still raining and I had 165mm in the gauge this morning :)
Can see the circulation is south of us and the better stuff south of that.
Should be some good 9am totals coming in..

And the power just went out... 06:51.

: 07:37... power still out, got the genny going now.

cheers

182mm here this morning after a very wet night. Rain very heavy after 7AM, there was water everywhere for a while. We seem to be just on the southern side of that little circulation at the moment. Rain still quite heavy.

Yes, still heavy. Thought it was easing off there for a bit, no such luck.
