Thanks Ron. Hopefully we all have a very good wet season. 44mm here so far for Nov, average for the month is 81 so a bit to catch up yet.

Hi everyone. I'm still here lurking. A bit transient, so no record keeping. Christmas & New Year are rolling up fast, so hope you all have a good one.

Was raining when I got up (0345) but stopped around 0425 so took the dog for a walk and only got a bit moist from the start of the next line of showers, checked the gauge @ 0600 and had 34mm
Still a few showers coming through.
Cheers

It's been quite heavy here since about 0700 Scott. Very heavy in the last half hour or so. 59mm up until 0900. The blob looks impressive now, it's pouring again.

The first time the yard has been awash this wet. 103mm from 7-11. Not bad when the WZ forecast for here was 1-5mm today. Still raining steadily.

Looks like the blob is slowly moving south Scott.
I'm in Manoora at the moment, it's been raining steadily since I woke about 6 or 7am. Nice contrast with the dry country. 😊😊
Just starting to ease now as I tap to Post.

Ended up with 48mm this morning, that's 152mm for the month. Temps were min 21°C max 36°C for Nov. Looks like more rain on the forecast map for the next week. Overcast and drizzle around so far today.

55mm here mainly from a couple of hours of rain yesterday afternoon..
Really has a wet season feel about the days down here at the moment...overcast, cooler though very humid, can shower at any time..feels more like febuary/march to me.....quite strange as i'd normally expect hot sunny days with possible stormage leading up to xmas..even last year the rain starting mid december was only because of the very unusual Cyclone Jasper related system which turned into a long lived stationary rain blob.....this just feels like wet season..
Anyway I'd imagine its basically impossible for forecasters to predict localised rainfall with any sort of accuracy..only that some showery rain is possible anytime with maybe an inch or 2 if some storms cruise by or maybe 4-6 inches if a storm sits stationary over you ......
Its certainly greened the place up down here though with triffid-like growth happening all around us... also saw some pics of Rusty's market underwater a day or 2 back..we decided not to go to the Botanic gardens today just due to the general volitility of the weather..

10mm in the gauge this morning from showers yesterday afternoon also. The weather is nice today so far, a bit of sunshine and blue sky with low cloud sitting on the hills.
Checked the GFS earlier and it predicts the first couple of lows starting to show up in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah Scott, paddled around in Rusty’s a few times, it being at the low end of Grafton, if it’s high tide the water has no where to go.

24.5mm here this morning. Heavy storms all around last night, we missed out a bit I think. Copperlode dam just to the west had 94mm in an hour at one stage. Looks like a similar forecast for today. Nice weather so far.

58.5mm in the gauge this morning. The rain has eased off in the last hour or so.
That's a nice thought Scott, Cairns winning the golden gumboot award. There's one little record my rain gauge is approaching, 3000mm 2 years in a row. 1st time for that if it happens.
