28, it looks like that typical monsoonal trough setup where lows can pop up anywhere along it over coming days...
Up to around 200mm in some places from Babinda to Gordonvale last night..
Bunyip, thats an interesting though slightly worrying observation but remember its not yet Febuaury so plenty of time for your fortunes to turn around yet...
Anthough its strange that Townsville received that night of convergent rainfall then it bypassed us and reformed towards Cairns..it couldnt be very often that both Tully and the Daintree miss out on such an event could it..?

True Scott, my ob's show March and April as the wettest here, so still plenty of time for a
bit of a turn around. And have had around 600mm so far from dismal.
Been steady rain here for a good hour or so, a nice lazy day.

This certainly has been an interesting January for rainfall. I’m sitting on 567mm as of this morning which is just above average for here but areas around Mossman are in the mid and upper 600mm range so far. Unbelievably ultra heavy weights Tully sugar mill are way down around 375mm this doesn’t happen very often that us and even dry old cairns is in front of Tully. Babinda haven’t updated totals yet but i suspect they will be very near the front by the end of the month.
I have no doubt Tully will kick into gear over the coming months and reel most
Of us pretenders in but man it feels good to be In front of Tully for once. |

I ended up with 572.75mm for the month, would be happy to have several hot sunny days now for my fruit trees to capitalise on the good rain we have had. looks like though we are going to have more showers on and off this week and then storms and potentially more heavy stuff into the weekend. |

Pretty soggy here in gods country. Gordonvale even made the Bom FB page the other day in the top rainfall figures for the last 7 days with 248mm. I think we had just over 30mm last night to ad to that. |

G'day Ron, think it went a bit far north. Only 61mm up here this morning :(
Very poor form from this whole trough setup for us.
Looks like a fairly clear, hot week ahead :( Good grass growing weather.
Hope we get some good wet season weather soon.

Not much happening in Feb for the wet season, im sitting on a sad old 85mm for the month so far. Could be worse though for anyone living near Cairns aero with a whopping 17mm for the month so far!!!!! Looks like even bunyip is not pulling the huge numbers that the daintree normally pulls this time of the year. |

A week in Cairns, and I think I missed Chillagoe's wet season, again.
No rain in sight for a while.
I drove back on Monday. It rained from Lappa to a kilometre from Pump Creek, Almaden where I had a 2 or 3 hour wait to cross. Not that deep, but running too fast for the old Camry.
No rain on the other side, it'd been sunny all day...

Well the forecast is for a bit of wet stuff this week with 10-20mm most days for the next week.
Will be nice if it comes off. But only looks like stream showers and not real wet season rain.
Very dry start to February this year :(

You guys are scaring me..
Where is our wet season...?
I spent the past couple of days burning up windrows...I never wouuld have though that would ever be possible in mid- February..
We will see what happens this week with the predicted showers but there doesnt look to be any real rain showing in the next couple of weeks...
