Our landline has been good mostly, when we moved in I did a bit of work and got rid of all the extra added on bits the linesman was good and we put 1 new socket in and fixed all the noise on the line. Telstra have said that there will be no copper network this side of the river after 2026 so I hope they have a plan for better mobile service by then. Maybe I should of brought a Starlink while they were half price, everyone with it is happy that I know of and very easy to setup.
Fwit Hype it up higgins the grader driver started out chasing storms, then he put his family in danger one day and there was an accident or incident and his then 2nd wife left him, he found himself a bimbo that believed every word and setup his weather service and has been hyping up everyday weather ever since. He is a danger.
A few rumbles yesterday but not a drop here.
Cheers

Gabrielle travelling pretty much to the track forecast by BOM and GFS models. Looking very impressive now on the sat pic. It's dried out nicely here, a few mowers can be heard.

Watched that big yellow/orange blob for a while last night tropo. I thought at the time you'd probably get bragging rights today. Good total. We got 34.5mm here, mainly in a heavy shower yesterday arvo.

I wonder if it will sit on the coast again tonight ? A nice solid mass of good rain slowly making it's way to the coast.
Love the way we get 100mm variations in our little area :)
Cheers

5.45pm this afternoon had 26mm in the gauge. A decent downpour from about 4.30pm, and still sprinkling on and off at 7pm.
I've really gotten used to this nice weather. Hard to imagine it in it's usual state now.

Holy [censored]some of you guys got smashed..!.. I'm not even envious...although we have only had light showers and a bit of drizzle there hasnt been much sunshine, so the ground is very sodden and my toes are starting to get the familiar funky toe itch... I hoping for a good wet season and a dry start to the winter without any damaging cyclones... Too much to ask for ya reckon...?...

Ended up with 150.5mm overnight thankfully it slowed up. I love the rain more than anyone but man since the 15th of December the longest dry spell I have had is two days in a row without rain that’s it. Some of my fruit trees are starting to suffer and look to be getting wet feet/rotten roots and there is no end in sight showers for the next 7 days incredible.
Anyway that brings me ytd 1186.75mm |

Gotta love this sentence from a BOM Facebook post😁
The coming week is typical summer weather for much of Australia, with heatwaves, elevated fire dangers, heavy rain, severe thunderstorms and tropical lows.

LOL...😁
At least when everywhere else is having a heatwave, we're usually comfortable up here.
Gabrielle has taken all the moisture away. 31% humidity today.
Google Earth has shown cloud for a while, but now has the last 24 hours looping. Good view of Gabrielle.

So the official term for “we have no idea where it’s going to go” is dances around. Learn something new every day😂 MODELS ARE IN STRONG AGREEMENT THAT 91P WILL GRADUALLY INTENSIFY AS IT DANCES AROUND THE GULF OF CARPENTARIA NEAR THE CAPE YORK PENINSULA OVER THE NEXT 48-72 HOURS BEFORE ULTIMATELY TRACKING SOUTHWARD OVERLAND. LOL. Nice overcast day. Very pleasant. Tried to rain but failed. So far. 30.3degreesC and 48% humidity at 3.45pm. Just found this on twitter. They had an aerial view of Auckland then zoomed all the way out to show a sat view of ex-Gabrielle. Haven't figured out how to use it yet, but might be a handy new toy. https://worldview.earthd...023-02-13-T05%3A00%3A05ZEdit: For anyone on Twitter, here's the tweet https://twitter.com/YouS...atus/1624697918073479169Edited by user Monday, 13 February 2023 3:47:25 PM(UTC)

1.5mm here in White Rock in the last 4 days. Hopefully that dancing low in the gulf drags the monsoon trough down over our area. That could give us some heavier rain. The forecast looks good.

Tried to sprinkle yesterday. Heard some sprinkles overnight. Even got up to check the gauge before the sun came up, to find absolutely zero, not even a drop.
Still, it's been another nice cool overcast day. Not sure I'll be able to cope with the Dry after all this wonderful weather.

Judging by the latest Cairns forecast the monsoon trough must be coming down our way.
