48.8mm here, really only a few heavy showers to top up the totals. Unfortunately I think it mostly gonna stay north of us Weary, If this small low pops up off the Cooktown coast tomorrow, its gonna move E quickly and I think we will dry up just as quick.

I just let the GFS run through to the end for a laugh. It has a low moving across the cape around 6/3, then hovering in the N coral sea until the 12th before recurving back.

Ron, in my completely unscientific opinion, it’s the lows that form in the gulf and move across the cape into the coral sea are the ones that come close to Cairns ( Larry and Yasi excepted of course 😬)

Still only *trying* to sprinkle. Looks like the Featherbeds are dissipating most of the rain.

Interesting low out over Vanuatu and Fiji. JTWC watching P94.

54mm here this morning. Good to see your on the mend Bunyip. You know it's a big rain event when the big nylex has to be emptied half way through the night. Only happened here a couple of times from memory. great falls up there.

Yeh I’ve had shingles before too bloody sucks alright.

Continues to rain here I seriously forget what a sunny day feels like. Me and my fruit trees are over it. Why they heck are we getting so much rain here instead of Tully they can have it back I don’t want it.

Hey Bunyip I dont envy you the shingles mate..i had them on the left side of my forehead a few years back...not good at all...I'd actually never heard of them before that...now sometimes when I'm stressed or rundown I feel some bumps, redness and itchiness there..

I've had to start looking after myself a bit better with diet and reduced alcohol and a bit more sleep..really sux getting older..only good thing is its at least 5 years since I had a hangover...LOL

BTW while we are talking wet days....Just imagine copping 6 foot of rainfall in a day....

Are OCC any better these days? Stopped following them a few years ago just getting almost Higgins like lol. Hopefully one of them has done some sort of photography/video course before their next chase...

I'm pretty sure Bellenden Kerr top station recorded 1900+mm over 2 days back in 1979 or round there. But how much fell on each day no one will ever know..

34mm here. Bit of light rain with the odd heavy shower overnight. Very good rain up north again. The little low off Cooktown seems to be moving away this morning.
6 foot of rain in 24 hours. That's about the Cairns annual total. Amazing stuff.

Yippee I'll start packing up the boat in anticicpation of a reef trip later in the week...

and praying the forecast doesnt change..

also be nice to dry things out a bit...sick of slopping aroiund in the mud so I spent last week cleaning and organising office and shed..the amount of mould is unbeleivable...walls, ceilings, doors, books even the wood and slings on some gunstocks locked inside the safe were covered in mould...

BTW, Ron OCC are straight shooters these days...nothing like the scaremongering for subscriptions that Higgins plays up..

LOL - yes, I had to re-sort my laundry and take out the non-essentials, so I don't have too much to dry inside the house if it comes to that.

6mm for us from a few light sprinkles overnight.

As an aside, if anyone can actually see the night sky, Jupiter and Venus are really close together at the moment.

Whyanbeel valley station (4km from me) has been recording rainfall since 1940, this is currently the second wettest feburary on record currently they are sitting on 1230mm for the month !!!!!
