Thanks SM. Pretty spectacular. Not a cloud anywhere.

Didn't realise they were still in the sky. Apparently a few days back they were really close together, but I think it was cloudy and forgot about them. Bit blase these days. Usually when something interesting is happening in the sky it gets cloudy or rains...lol.

Yeah. Bummer.... I've quite become used to having overcast skies. The sun is a bit much.

An English friend who had been living years in NW-WA years ago told me he'd wake up, look out the window, and think: oh no not another sunny day. Living out here for 10+ years has given me an appreciation of how he felt.

Anyone been keeping an eye on Vanuatu. Judy sat over them for days on end it seems. She's moved on south but Kevin is hot on her heels, plus a 6+ earthquake at only 10km.

You get that same again feeling as well if you live for any length of time in Townsville 28. And your right, some nice action going on out to the east.

Funny day here. Overcast. Very cool & dampish. 25°C.
Feeling like it could be the beginning of cooler weather. Not that it got very hot this season.

8.6mm to finally kick off March. Will this be the last tropical downpour of the season before those dreaded SE trades kick in?
Records for 2022: 1520mm
2023: 2710mm 2024: 951.6mm (no records April-Sept)

68mm down here overnight...just nice steady rain so far..

A coolish 27c this morning with an Autumny feel to it today..a couple of baby ducks I have are enjoying the puddles..the chickens not so much..

Thanks for that link Tropo..isnt it just amazing how much geography and Topography have to do with the rainfall...

Although its been put down to luck in the past I wonder if that also has anything to do with why Cairns seems to miss the most severe cyclones..?..

Has Cairns even had a severe cyclone in living history..?

47mm down here

I see some reports of up to 300mm north of Cairns city..Saddle mountain alert 304mm..

Wonder if there will be any havoc on those Northern beaches roundabouts....spinning out seems to be pretty popular up that way with any rain..

Convergence blob currently sitting right over Cairns city ..I wonder if it will continue to move slowly south or just peter out..?
