11mm here overnight, 99 in the last 3 days. Probably a bit low compared to what was forecast. Still the swampy backyard is keeping the local kookaburras full of earthworms. A bit of drier weather ahead by the look of things.

115mm here from midnight till 9am with some localised low level flooding around the district..Doesnt take much now with how saturated the ground is..
Looks like a repreive after the weekend with even some sunshine, warmer days and cooler nights..well unless of course the cyclone hits us on its way to Brisbane...
I know we keep saying it but man FB is a haven for fools....which I guess is why so many untalented people can actually make money by conning them...
After cyclone season I think I'll go back to FB exile...its far too frustrating to go on there and see all the abject stupidity and even a bit depressing as it highlights the direction society is headed in..
Bunyip, I'm sure your solar whisper mate can ferry Ergon back and forth ...looks like he is back taking the tourists out anyway and he is still accepting donations...

Power restored about 11:00 , so 21hrs .. They came with a chopper , did an inspection then landed and walked a bit. Local helped with a buggy. Cleaned up and left. Got to hand it to them, they do a great job.
Cheers

They certainly do. The rare times we had an outage IN Chillagoe they'd be there in the time it took to drive. Fixed in minutes usually. Longer outages, in 15 years there, I could probably count on one hand.

Good morning :)
62mm in my gauge this morning.
I thought Narelle was supposed to take all the wet with her :) haha
NT looks to be inline for some more major flooding, they have had a massive wet season.
With drought setting in down on the Darling Downs and northern NSW, I wonder if this is the last of our big wet years. We have had a few now, and it might be a sign of drier seasons ahead. Who knows, I'm sure the BoM don't even with a $96m website :)
cheers

Normally when cyclones go west they drag the weather with them. We had our wettest night since Narelle formed with 66mm so something is a bit different. A drizzly morning here so far.

Pretty wet morning up here so far, a bit over 30mm in the gauge now at a guess, just looking with the binos. A little patch has setup just over us and seems to be sticking around for a bit.
Cheers

125mm last night and some decent showers throughout the day..Offshore from the Daintree looks like solid rain...you might be in the firing line again tonight Bunyip if that lot sneaks ashore... Hopefully clearing tomorrow to let the sun peek through at some stage this week..That would be nice..!..If so I'll get my self seeded cherry tomatoes planted that I dug out and potted through the worst of the last few weeks of wet..couple of plants of that large yellowish tropical variety of cucumbers are doing well as are pumpkins and wing beans and of course Kangkong and Taro growing like weeds..Hopefully the wet wont drag on through winter.. and yeah NT sure is having a doozy of a time up there... 102mm up here this morning. Yeah Scott it was a wet night.
1434mm for March so far is getting up there.
We lost a few early veggie plants, probably start a few again this week. Some how we have had pumpkins all the way through this year, but will be pulling what's left and reclaiming the beds, for corn and others. Will start a new patch with the melons in the next couple of weeks. That Kangkong stuff grows like a weed in this wet stuff, I don't get the hype for it..
Cheers

8mm here this morning. The forecast for the next week is looking a bit drier, even a couple of 'no rains' for White Rock.
A good monthly total so far there Bunyip. We've had 606mm in the last 2 weeks which has helped our total a lot as well.
A bit of blue sky around today.

A measly 33mm here today and some blue sky for us too SM..Though the sun has some bite to it..Hopefully the ground will dry out a bit this week..plenty of mowing and spraying to be done..but not while its so sloppy... The vege thing is always a gamble this early Bunyip but its worth a try I reckon.. I grow the Kangkong in flat water troughs and an old spa bath on a 3 foot high stand so the pots are always in water and fed with chicken poop its grows very lush with fat juicy stems...if its not well grown away from the soil and just straggling along in the ground I find its not as palatable..we use it or curries, stir fries and noodle dishs and find it quite acceptable as agreen this time of year same with the wing beans which in the sideways pics have just overtaken all the fences...... I prefer Pak choi and silverbeet but they are no-go through the wet and the perennial stuff is just so easy..... I have a couple of types of Breadfruit coming off this season which have been interesting..also used in curries and when older great for wedges in the air fryer (lovely with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce)and when soft-ripe they make great desserts like pancakes...though mainly for the missus as i dont really have a sweet tooth... Cockies stripped my Rambutan tree this week...I dont want to but I think I'm going to have to introduce them to Mr Smith and Wesson...

Absolute heaven for the FB “weather” sites, turning “a category 1 cyclone MIGHT affect Perth” into an absolute drama and trying to pick up subscribers from a major population centre.😂
